We are proud to feature a variety of artwork throughout the year in the Academy Gallery and Art Up Front, conveniently located on the first floor of the Academy of Fine Arts Building at 600 Main Street. The Arts and Education building, which features mixed media exhibits in the lobby, is located at Commerce & 5th Streets in historic Downtown Lynchburg. Both spaces are fully handicap accessible.

Featured artist: Kat Antis
"Textured Porcelain"

The May Carter Pottery studio will be featuring porcelain work of Appomatox potter Kat Antis. Kat graduated from Virginia Tech, studying with David Crane, was a resident at Cub Creek, and now teaches in our program of classes. Her work, both wheel thrown and hand built features unique stamped and slip trailed designs which are enhanced by her transparent glazes. Her work will be featured both at First Friday and in the Arts & Education lobby during January.
