Russ Voelker graduated from Utah State University and lived in Utah for over 16 years. It was there that Russ developed a deep appreciation of the beauty that nature displays in the mountains and canyons of the Rocky Mountain West. Now he has found new vistas to paint in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Russ most often works in oils, but occassionally applies his art with watercolor, pen and ink and pastels. "I like to work from my minds-eye and develop the layout and content of my artwork from the many places and visuals I have experienced in my life." States Russ.
